Vaccinated Found Infected with Omicron in Canada, Portugal and Hong Kong

Having recently traveled to Canada this month, I can tell you that in order to enter Canada, you need to be vaccinated and you must have a negative PCR test taken 72 hours prior to your arrival.

That vaccinated have been found infected with Omicron in Canada, Portugal, and Hong Kong has been established:

Canadian health officials have reported two cases of the Omicron coronavirus variant, marking the first in North America.

The cases were in two people in Ottawa, Ontario, who had recently traveled to Nigeria, western Africa, and later tested positive for COVID-19, Ottawa Public Health said in a Sunday statement.

HONG KONG: Hong Kong has recorded its third case of a heavily mutated coronavirus strain discovered in southern Africa, health officials said on Monday, amid international concerns that the new variant could drive a new wave of transmissions.  At a press conference, the officials identified the third Omicron case as a 37-year-old man who arrived in Hong Kong from Nigeria last Wednesday.

….All three people were asymptomatic and fully vaccinated.
