The Seditious Bastard Defenders Alienate Independents and Some GOP into Voting for Dems or Simply Not Voting GOP — Because TSB Defenders Sound Like Antifa
So, the FBI executes a Department of Justice National Security search warrant on The Seditious Bastard’s residence and finds classified documents helter-skelter around his residence — including half the cache in one closet — and while the GOP Seditious Defender Caucus loses it, defends him and now, the political effect of the GOP defense is obvious from polling, and created a virtuous feedback loop.
Here is how conservative Ben Shapiro describes it:
…when Trump is attacked, Republicans immediately return to making him the centerpiece of the conversation – and this harms them electorally, as every poll is now showing….There is a reason Democrats are eager to keep Trump at the center of the conversation: half of independents say Trump is a major factor in their vote, and they’re breaking 4-1 for the Democrats. Republicans shouldn’t play that game. If they do, they’re cruising for a bruising.
The political and electoral result is — because the GOP defending Trump is alienating the independents and some GOP voters, combined with tens of thousands of women registering to vote after the Roe decision by the Supreme Court — there will be no red mid-term election wave.
Former GOP Sen. Rick Santorum (Pa.) said on Newsmax on Thursday that after the special election:
“Republicans have to start paying attention.”
“The problem is where Republicans have to pick up in order to win the Congress is in districts like that [NY],” Santorum said. “If you look at the national polls, if you look at a lot of these races like in my home state of Pennsylvania — if this is a red wave year, the polls are not showing it right now.”
The defenders of The Seditious Bastard don’t believe the polls, don’t believe Shapiro, and don’t believe Santorum.
After all, they still believe The Seditious Bastard won the election.
MGT calling to DEFUND THE FBI! and Senator Graham talking about riots in the streets if Trump is indicted — sounds a whole lot like Antifa, not the Grand Old Party.
The thing is, Antifa is not on the ballot in November, but the GOP is on the ballot. Republicans who sound like Antifa don’t get re-elected — just say’n!
Even TSB piled on, saying supporters should Go ‘Nuts’ and Not ‘Take it Anymore’ Over Mar-a-Lago Raid. Then Trump posts a clip of Senator Graham’s “riots in the street” bit.
The GOP keeps repeating that Biden’s approval rating (going up now) and gas prices (going down now) are going to save the GOP and give them a majority in the House and the Senate.
The GOP dismisses out-of-hand polls showing that the number one concern of voters, by 57%, is threats to democracy — not inflation.
It will make for another hard election night ahead, where reality intrudes on TSB Defender’s beliefs, yet again.
