The Relevant Dates for Rep. Chris Stewart’s (R-UT) Departure from the U.S. House and the Date of the Special Election in Utah

Rep. Chris Stewart, R-Utah, said his official last day would be Sept. 15, 2023.

A statewide primary election is set for Sept. 5, 2023.

The special election to fill Utah’s 2nd Congressional District seat will be held on Nov. 21, 2023.

Assuming Rep. Stewart’s wife’s health allows him to stay for key votes until Sept. 15th, that leaves the GOP down one vote for about nine weeks.
