The One and the Senate Dems trot out the Same Old Same Old

“I’ve got to do a better job.”

“If there are Republican ideas and we haven’t thought of them, and we take a look at them and think they might work, we should try them.”

“I didn’t communicate effectively.”

From AP: President Barack Obama says passing his massive health care overhaul law was “the right thing to do.”

In the face of the biggest loss of Congressional seats since 1948, The One tries to sound like he’s listening or will change, while the Senate Democrats warn Republicans:

“Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.), Majority Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.) and Democratic Conference Vice Chairman Charles Schumer (N.Y.) pledged in a conference call with reporters Wednesday to work with the Republicans but also emphasized the GOP’s responsibility to not block legislation.

Reid, especially, renewed a threat he made before, that Republicans must stop obstructing and start cooperating. The majority leader, who survived a close reelection battle, said he spoke early Wednesday afternoon with Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).”

Essentially, this is what the Dems were saying and are now saying about ObamaCare: NO we are not going to change the legislation.  NO we are not going to stop.  NO we are not going to obey the rules of the Senate.  NO we don’t agree with any criticisms of the bill.  NO we are not going to tell the truth about this bill.  NO we will not stop lying about the bill.

This WSJ editorial sums it up nicely:

“Mr. Obama said at his press conference yesterday that “We’d be misreading the election if we thought that the American people want to see us for the next two years relitigate arguments that we had over the past two years.” What the President doesn’t seem to understand, still, is that his health-care nationalization started these arguments but didn’t come anywhere to close to finishing them—though it did finish off many of his staunchest allies.”

The Dems are so blinded by their ideology, even with 24% of the Dems in the House being replaced, they still cannot accept changes to their socialist legislation.

The One will never agree to changes to ObamaCare.

The Democrats have taken the position the Soviets used to take in any arms control negotiations:

“What’s mine is mine, and what’s yours is negotiable.”

Toughness was the only thing the Soviets understood, and The One, approaching irrational territory still refuses to budge on ObamaCare.

Soon, I predict, he will be crying out, ‘Quintilius Varus, give me back my legions!‘?

Oh, just one other thing, this is The One, according to him after experiencing “humbling” elections.
