President Obama’s Grassroots Group Targets Democrats with TV Ads!
There is a whiff of desperation in the air.
Consider this lead from RollCall:
President Barack Obama is targeting Senators in his own political party with television ads, urging these skeptical Democrats to embrace health care reform legislation that could put them in a political bind at home.
Perhaps desperation is setting in because of charts like this one that explain what New Yorker’s taxes will be after the Obama health plan pass.
Even the Washington Post editorial board is against President Obama’s Health Care Surtax.
In an editorial titled: “The Deep-Pockets Mirage, House Democrats would have us believe that the rich can pay for it all,” the Post said:
“The long-term deficit is driven by the aging of the population as well as by growing health-care costs, both contributing to Social Security and Medicare expenses. There is simply no way to close the gap by taxing a handful of high earners. The House actions echo President Obama’s unrealistic campaign promise that he can build a larger, more progressive government while raising taxes on only the wealthiest. …Pretending that “the rich” alone can fund government, let alone the kind of activist government that the president and Congress envision, is bad policy any way you look at it.”
