The Democratic Presidential Primary Candidates Who will Try to Take on Trump on November 3, 2020
I keep being asked, “who are the Democrats running to take on Trump in the next Presidential election” on November 3, 2020?
Below is the list of Democrats (based on intel from Dems in D.C. and other sources) who will run in the next Democratic Presidential Primary, in no particular order:
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Surprisingly, there continues to be this parade of what I view as serious Democrats I have had extensive discussions with who truly, actually believe that Trump will not run in the next election.
Trump’s approval rating has never been higher.
GDP growth is at 4.8 percent and African-American unemployment has never been lower. These two economic facts will make up the whole election in 2020.
Trump will run. No other Republican will primary him.
While the MainStreamMedia has been reporting for the last two years about the divisions in the Republican party, only recently have they focused on the divisions in the Democratic party. The recent election of Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year-old former bartender overJoe Crowley (D-N.Y.) has forced them to pay attention. These Dem divisions are more vast than any in the GOP — whether you abolish ICE or not, does not lend itself to compromise.
And to the extent that GOP divisions have caused legislative disfunction in the Senate, the three biggest Trump critics who are GOP Senators will not be back next session, which is a significant number when the margins of victory for any vote are so small.
In other words, there is political consolidation among the GOP and significant and growing political discord among the Dems.
