Dems Move the Deadline for ObamaCare Again, its Now the State of the Union Print This Post Email This Post

From USA Today:

“First the plan was to get a health care bill passed by August. Then the deadline was Christmas. More lately, Democratic congressional leaders have been talking about getting a health care bill on President Obama’s desk for him to sign before the annual State of the Union address.

“But as the Senate bogged down in more parliamentary infighting over the legislation, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hinted even that’s getting iffy. Asked about getting a bill to the president before the State of the Union speech, Pelosi mused that it was “certainly possible,” then reversed herself. “Yes!” she exclaimed emphatically to a roundtable of reporters gathered in her office today.

“Covering her bases, Pelosi joked that no one yet has set a date for the prime-time presidential address. (It usually takes place in late January or early February.)  The queston she’s answering: Do you think you’ll have a health care bill ready for the president to sign by the State of the Union?”
