If you were a progressive liberal, would you be enthused about the Democrats dropping the public option or the abortion restrictions in the House health bill?

Or President Obama reneging on his campaign promises about Gitmo, transparency or the surge in Afghanistan?

You would be depressed that when the Democrats controlled the White House, the House and the Senate were actively distancing themselves from key things they promised in the campaign.

And that is now what the polls are showing, depressed Democrats who are saying they will stay home in 2010 because they are so dispirited by the Dems who have walked away from their campaign promises.
